Happy National Dog Day! As we celebrate pups everywhere, we would also like to highlight the work of the advocates who are building a more humane world for dogs.

In late July, the ASPCA assisted the New York City Police Department (NYPD) with the rescue of more than 25 dogs from a cruelty situation in Queens, New York. Since their rescue, the dogs have been in our expert care, receiving behavioral and medical treatment as the case develops.

There is not one mean bone in Emily’s body—she’s always happy to get pets from and cuddle up with friends and strangers alike. This pretty pittie loves playtime with rope toys and getting out for walks. She’s also super smart—she’s been reported to know sit, stay, come and is already housetrained!

When disaster strikes, we are thankful to have devoted Guardians like you by our side. Your monthly support provides a reliable source of funds so we can be ready for emergency situations. One dog named Princess Blueberry Hippo, was assisted by the ASPCA after a hurricane last year.
