- In order to settle lawsuits alleging they’ve misled consumers, two prominent players in the poultry industry will remove “humanely raised” and “raised in a humane environment” claims, respectively, from their chicken packaging. Perdue, one of the largest chicken producers in the U.S., and The Kroger Company, the biggest U.S. supermarket operator, have each agreed to make these important changes.
