Dogs Affected by Hurricane Helene Are STILL Looking for Homes!

When Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina in September, dogs Hettie and Bolt were temporarily evacuated from the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center in Weaverville. They made the trek to Ohio to stay at our Cruelty Recovery Center but have since returned to North Carolina and after a long journey are FINALLY ready to find their own loving homes! Learn more about them below to see if they could be the perfect fit for your home.
Hettie

Hettie is a striking, beautiful young dog with a lot of pizzazz to share with the world. She adores action and adventure like exploring new places and moving her body. Whether it’s exploring local trails or working on brain-building puzzles, Hettie just enjoys staying active. But don’t worry — after exercising Hettie is happy to snuggle up on the couch with you! Hettie is working on her confidence with new people and has made great strides while in our care. She would greatly benefit from an adopter continuing this work with her.

Bolt

Bolt is a silly, young hound dog who loves walks outside and playtime! He is all about having fun with his favorite toys and outdoor adventures like hikes. Bolt would never turn down a treat, which makes working on his obedience skills a blast. This sweet boy is sensitive and can still be shy when in a new place, but with time and patience he’ll begin to feel right at home. Having a confident, social dog buddy around can also help him feel more at ease and show him the ropes.
