Join Us for Our National Adoption Weekend and #AdoptfromHome!
Dogs, cats and horses nationwide are looking to friends like you to help them find loving homes, barns and families! Join us June 5-7, for the ASPCA National Adoption Weekend as we partner with animal shelters and rescues nationwide to help more animals find homes, many through remote adoptions.
As a result of the pandemic, shelters and rescues have suspended or reduced operations and have relied on the incredible support of foster caregivers to help house and care for thousands of animals. And now, these animals are ready to continue their journeys toward homes to call their own.
To participate, find your local shelter or rescue on our map, see their available animals online, and contact them for more information on how to virtually meet a potential furry or hooved friend and begin the adoption process from home. Or, if you live in the Los Angeles area and are interested in a feline friend, see our available kitties now.
If you’re not quite ready to adopt, you can still get involved! Share adoptable animals on your social media channels and encourage friends and family to get involved, too! Find adoptable animals to re-share by searching the hashtag #AdoptFromHome or by visiting your local shelter’s social media accounts or website. You can also visit The Shelter Pet Project or My Right Horse and easily share the adoptable animals by clicking the social media share icons.
If You Do Decide to Adopt!
Once you’ve met your new match and make your adoption official, you can visit your local PetSmart© or Petco© with your adoption paperwork and get one of their kits for new adopters! These kits may include things like a free bag of pet food and coupon savings on all the essentials you’ll need for your new cat or dog--from treats and toys to litter and flea and tick protection as well as professional grooming, training and boarding.
