Former Cruelty Victim, Apple, Gets Her Best Day Ever!

October 24, 2019

Dog in pajamas

Apple was brought into the ASPCA by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) after being found abandoned, tethered to a pole and suffering from recent bite wounds on her head and front forelimbs. As Apple healed in our care, she spent time at the ASPCA Animal Recovery Center until she was ready to be made available for adoption. So, while Apple waited, we decided that she deserved the best day ever in honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, when we encourage everyone to make a difference for the millions of shelter dogs who are waiting for loving homes.

We asked our supporters to vote for which activity Apple should get on her special, great day. Would it be to wear jammies, eat some peanut butter, play in water or get plenty of cuddles? Well, the response was so great that we decided that the winning activity should be…

ALL OF THEM! Sweet Apple has been through so much, of course she deserves it all. Like all the dogs we work to rescue and protect year-round, Apple deserves above all, a happy, safe home. See photos from Apple’s great day and find out more about her below!
