Ready to Change Laws and Save Lives? Become a District Captain!

The ASPCA District Captain program is a special opportunity for key advocates to take a leadership position in the animal welfare community and fight for animals in a hands-on way.

District Captains will be involved in organizing and connecting other advocates in their area, meeting with legislators, writing letters to the editor, and volunteering with the ASPCA Government Relations team to help coordinate events, connect local volunteers, organize advocacy efforts, and promote social media campaigns!

Most District Captain activities can be carried out from home and within your community, though travel in your state may be requested on occasion as part of a volunteer opportunity. We will stay in touch with you about upcoming issues and keep you informed about volunteer activities in your community. We will also connect you with other advocates looking to volunteer in your community.

If you're not comfortable doing the following activities, please consider joining our Regional Advocacy Field Team (RAFT), which is a national volunteer program for volunteers who will work hand-in-hand with the District Captain in their area to actively engage on ASPCA priority legislation.
