Xiomara is a special little kitten! When we first met this girl at just about five weeks of age, the veterinarians at our Kitten Nursery immediately noticed that her eyes were severely damaged. So, in order to prevent future complications and suffering, the difficult decision was made to remove them. Luckily for Xiomara, she has no idea she’s different and loves life just as much as any other kitten! According to her foster caregiver, Xiomara, “is such a sweet girl who loves to be pet,” and, “always starts purring,” when her people are near.

Because she can’t see, she does bump into walls and furniture occasionally—but that doesn’t stop her from being as brave as can be! Xiomara’s foster caregiver says that this little lady, “wants to explore new places, and you won’t be able to tell that she’s blind because she literally goes everywhere without hesitation!” And, just like any other young kitten, Xiomara loves to play, particularly with wand toys!

Even though Xiomara can’t see, she sure does have a sense for when things are dirty and has no problems showing off what a clean freak she is! Her foster notes that Xiomara “can’t stand when things aren’t clean. She spends a lot of time cleaning herself and will try to clean you if she finds out that you’ve skipped taking a shower.”

Xiomara would love an adopter who can look past her blindness and appreciate the beautiful soul she is! If you’d like to adopt her, please complete our Cat Adoption Survey.
