Turmeric

Meet Turmeric! If you look at the photos of Turmeric when he first arrived at the ASPCA Adoption Center versus photos of him now, it’s night and day. Originally, he would often be found huddled in the very back of his box, showing no interest in toys, treats or affection. Turmeric is still a sensitive guy who can be nervous in new places, with new people and around loud sounds, but look at him now! Having spent some time in a foster home, we’ve really seen this guy blossom. Turmeric has shown us that he loves playing with toys, especially spring toys and wire toys! His foster notes that while he really enjoys the latter he isn’t too good with it—but he gets an “A” for effort! Turmeric also loves keeping his handsome coat in check with a good brushing. When it comes to physical affection Turmeric definitely appreciates a slow approach before reveling in all the pets you’re willing to give—especially belly rubs.

Turmeric is looking for an adopter who understands that he will need time and confinement to adjust to any new home. As small kids may be too loud, rowdy and fast-moving for this sensitive boy, children ages 8 and up would be best. We know that Turmeric has previously lived with other cats but it’s unknown how he did with them.
