Mama Gnocchi recently arrived at the ASPCA Adoption Center with a litter of kittens—and now that they’re weaned, she’s ready to thrive in a new home of her own! This pretty lady is still adjusting to empty-nester life, and we’re still getting to know Gnocchi for who she really is when she isn’t in mom-mode. So far, we’ve seen a wonderful cat who’s a little shy, who has a little of that famous “tortitude” and who wants nothing more than love. Gnocchi’s been spending her time in an ASPCA office, and according to her human office-mate Gnocchi loves attention once she’s settled in and comfortable. But, she “isn’t pushy about requesting it—she hangs back and waits for you to come to her.” When you rub her head and neck, Gnocchi rolls over out of happiness and rewards you with lots of purrs! And, as her name may suggest, Gnocchi is a foody. She can tend to get a little hangry—again, perhaps a trait of the tortitude—but that’s just a part of what makes her special.

Gnocchi is looking for an adopter who understands that she’s a bit of a shy girl—and that’s okay! Her adopter should be on board with the fact that it might take Gnocchi some time to settle in and that a hands-off approach for the first few weeks would be best, but that she’s worth the wait! Small kids may not understand when she’d like some space, so we think that Gnocchi would probably prefer a quiet home with teens and up.
