Using Animal Organs for Transplantation into Other Animals

The ASPCA is opposed to the killing of live animals for organ donation to other animals. The ASPCA does support ethical practices such as kidney transplant programs in which a kidney is harvested from a carefully selected animal on the condition that the guardian of the animal receiving the kidney must subsequently adopt or arrange for a permanent home for the donor animal.
