What’s Your Big Idea? ASPCA 2023 Fund to End Factory Farming Now Accepting Applications!
Do you have a big idea to increase awareness of how factory farming impacts people?
Now in its second year, the ASPCA Fund to End Factory Farming is offering $200,000 in grant funding for novel research and other projects that document or illustrate the negative impacts of factory farming on human well-being, or projects that correlate improved outcomes for people and communities with less intensive farming practices. Average grants will range from $15,000 to $30,000.
Factory farming poses a grave threat to the welfare of billions of animals, and this inhumane business model has devastating impacts on farmers, local communities, workers and consumers. Only a loose network of lax laws and regulations govern these facilities. As part of our commitment to improve the lives of the billions of animals raised on U.S. farms each year, the 2023 ASPCA Fund to End Factory Farming seeks proposals for projects that highlight:
- Worker Impact: The ways in which labor practices correlate to differing types of animal housing and management systems, including contract terms or working conditions.
- Local Community Impact: The impact of these differing types of animal agriculture on individuals or communities located near farms.
- Consumer Impact: The impact on the general public’s access to or consumption of these differing types of animal products.
- Economic Impact: The economic outcomes of raising animals in these differing systems for producers and brands., such as return on investment, level of financial risk and market access.
Applications for the 2023 ASPCA Fund to End Factory Farming will be accepted from April 10-May 30, 2023. For more information about the eligibility requirements or to submit a proposal for consideration, please visit aspca.org/farmRFP.
