Say hello to Salad! Look past his quirky name and you’re sure to find a kitty who’s a little shy and a lot sweet! According to Salad’s previous family, this guy is the type of cat who can be nervous around new people and in new places and takes a little time warming up. We’ve seen this behavior in the shelter and his foster home, too—but boy, does Salad love his foster home! According to his foster mom, once he settled in Salad showed that he is, “curious and playful. His favorite things are his cat dancer toy and a small, football-shaped stress ball that he kicks around.” Treats and cheek rubs—with the rubs on his terms and paired with a slow approach—are also up there next to play on Salad’s list of favorite things, as is napping near his people! His foster mom notes that Salad, “is often found napping in different places, typically in a chair next to you,” and that, while he’s awake, “he can be found poking around different corners of the apartment, following you whenever you get up.” And if you need an alarm clock, Salad may be your guy. “In the morning, he has been known to wake a person up by laying on top of them and licking their hands—this is when you know it’s breakfast time!”
Salad is looking for a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that going to a new home with people he doesn’t know can be a little scary. So, his new family should be ready to give him time and space to settle in. Other cats and kids ages eight and up are all good with this guy, but no doggies please!
