Fraiser

We aren’t going to beat around the bush with you—Fraiser is a very special boy who needs a very special person. Upon his arrival at the ASPCA Adoption Center, our veterinarians noticed a few things going on medically with this handsome older gentleman—potential feline asthma and a mass on his upper lip. The mass was removed and submitted for biopsy, and unfortunately the results show that Fraiser has cancer. The ability to determine exactly what type of cancer Fraiser has is beyond our abilities in a shelter setting—but what we do have the ability to do is find him a safe and loving home where he can live out whatever time he has left, with a family who adores him.

Despite his medical status, Fraiser is the happiest, sweetest boy who’s always purring. According to his foster mom—who adores him, we should add— “Fraiser is active and likes to play. You’d never know he’s thirteen years old!” Fake mice, stuffed animals and catnip toys are all things Fraiser enjoys, but his number one toy? Springs! “He loves to play ‘chase the springs,” his foster tells us. “They are his favorite.” After the toys are away, Fraiser is happy to entertain himself by scratching on his scratching post. Using the furniture instead? Not something this guy does!

With all that playtime and scratching time comes a need for rest—he has to get that energy from somewhere! Every morning after breakfast, Fraiser heads right over to the windowsill to relax and watch a little “cat TV.” During the day boxes and bags are his favorite place to chill and nap, and at night it’s all but guaranteed that Fraiser will be with you! According to his foster, “our bed is his number one place to sleep. He sleeps on our feet or between our legs every night but doesn’t overcrowd the bed.” And if you have a real TV in your bedroom, that’s even better! Fraiser loves curling up next to his people for a Netflix marathon. He “has his limits” with petting, but we’re sure you can sneak a few scratches in while he’s near, and that he’ll be purring the whole time!
