Delos

Delos is a beautiful, mature gal with a personality to match! We first met Delos after she arrived from a home with many other cats, where she likely had very little experience interacting with people. Because the human world was so new to her, Delos was understandably terrified. With time and love from both ASPCA staff and a wonderful foster caregiver, Delos has begun to blossom!

Delos is still very shy—and may always be—but she has a wonderful personality that she has started to let us see. Once she began feeling comfortable in her foster home, Delos made it clear that she has a great, playful spirit! According to her foster mom, “Delos is full of energy and loves to play, especially with wand toys. But she appreciates toys of all types!” Delos especially loves playing with her toys at night, dumping all of her toys out of the toybox and leaving an adorable mess to be found in the morning. Delos is still learning how great petting can be—but we think she’s starting to come around! Currently, Delos enjoys having her back caressed with the ribbon from wand toys, and she’ll need someone who understands that being scratched isn’t totally her thing right now. Otherwise, Delos is happy to curl up for a nap on a pillow or bed instead!

According to her foster caregiver, “Delos needs someone with the patience and time to help her overcome her hesitancy,”—and we agree! Delos would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter who’s excited to help her continue coming out of her shell. Because kids may be too much for this sensitive lady, a home with teens and up would be best. We know that Delos previously lived with other cats but we’re not sure how they got along—so, if you’re interested in adopting Delos as a cat for your current kitty our Matchmakers would be happy to provide instructions on proper cat-to-cat intros!
