Capri is a lucky lady! We first met this girl after she was removed from a home with lots of other cats, where she likely didn’t get very much experience with people or all the good things they have to offer. So, Capri was terrified when she arrived at the shelter—and understandably so. But with time and love from a dedicated foster caregiver—who also happens to be an ASPCA staff member—Capri has shown us a totally new side to her. Described as “blossoming in her foster home,” Capri has become an incredibly playful little lady who somehow manages to be a couch potato at the same time. According to her foster caregiver, “Capri LOVES to play and will chase a ping pong ball or toy mouse anywhere. She’ll even follow it under furniture if need be.” If there aren’t any toys around, it’s still no problem for Capri. Capri enjoys climbing and exploring, especially when she can work her way into things— “her curiosity wins out over her nervousness a lot when being around the apartment!” Lots of exploring and playing means tuckering herself out, so Capri can often be found napping on the couch. All in all, Capri is still a shy gal and likely always will be. She’s still learning that pets are okay, and she may never be as affectionate as some kitties—and that’s perfectly okay!
Capri is looking for an experienced adopter who’s ready to love her for her sensitive self and understands that it may take her several weeks or more to settle in. Because kids would probably be too rowdy for her, a home with teens and up would be best. If you’d like to adopt Capri, please complete our Cat Adoption Survey.
