The ASPCA® Selected as National Charity Partner in the Subaru Share the Love® Event
The ASPCA and Subaru celebrate longstanding cause partnership aimed at impacting thousands of animals across the countryNEW YORK – For the thirteenth year in a row, the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) is joining the 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event as a national charity partner in an effort to help thousands of animals across the country.
From November 19, 2020, through January 4, 2021, Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer’s choice of participating charities, with the ASPCA being one of the four national charities from which to select. For the fifth consecutive year, there will be no cap placed on the total donation from Subaru to the ASPCA and other Subaru Share the Love Event charitable partners. By the conclusion of this year’s campaign, Subaru hopes to exceed a total of $200 million donated to national and local charities since the campaign’s inception in 2008.
Through its participation in the Subaru Share the Love Event, the ASPCA has been able to provide critical grant funding to animal welfare organizations around the country, including resources to help support virtual pet adoptions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The generous donation received from last year’s Subaru Share the Love Event enabled the ASPCA to grant a total of $690,795 to 146 animal welfare organizations across 42 states and Washington, D.C. in 2020 to support virtual pet adoption events in partnership with local Subaru retailer partners (in-person events hosted as permitted by federal, state and local governing authorities). In 2019, the ASPCA and Subaru grant program impacted nearly 7,000 animals nationwide. The ASPCA and Subaru are committed to helping animals in need again this year by safely placing as many animals as possible into loving homes.
“The Subaru Share the Love Event helps fund a wide range of lifesaving programs for vulnerable animals and enables shelters to find loving homes for tens of thousands of homeless dogs and cats across the country," said Matt Bershadker, President and CEO of the ASPCA. "We’re thrilled to participate for the 13th year in a row and are grateful to Subaru and their compassionate customers for their commitment to helping animals in need.”
Since 2008, Subaru has donated more than $25 million to the ASPCA to help animals in need through the Subaru Share the Love Event. Throughout our longstanding cause partnership, Subaru has impacted the rescue, transport, and adoption of more than 64,000 animals nationwide.
