Amaya has been through a lot of transition in the last ten months. After moving from family to family and home to home, she’s now ready to find stability with new humans who can keep her active and entertained—and provide her with a little training, too!

Big fan of: Staying active! Amaya is still a young puppy at heart and has the energy to prove it. Whether it’s a 5k run outside, a long walk where she can sniff to her heart’s content, or a playgroup session where she gets to romp around with other dogs, you can bet that Amaya is sure to help her people burn some calories! And, for Amaya, playtime is all the time. She enjoys nothing more than getting her human and dog friends involved in the games and can play for hours! Once the toys are away, Amaya is always sure to snuggle up with you for some pets—this girl absolutely loves getting scratches and being loved on.

Working on: Her adult manners. Being shuffled around so much, Amaya never had the chance to learn proper adult dog skills and still holds onto some of her naughty puppy behavior. This includes chewing on things that aren’t hers—like furniture and blankets—jumping up, mouthing and using the bathroom indoors. To help her succeed and become a good member of adult dog society, Amaya’s adopter will need to provide her with a quiet area when unsupervised, like a crate, and give her lots of outlets for her mental and physical energy and continue training her to help her blossom.

Dream home: Amaya is looking for an active home where she will always have the opportunity to burn off some of her energy! As she can get a little overexcited, Amaya may be too much for young children and would likely do best in a home with kids ages 8 and up.
