Minnesota is a shy guy looking for a home to blossom in! When he first entered the shelter, Minnesota was visibly scared and could often be found huddled in the very back of his box. With dedication, time and lots of treats from our Behavior team, we’ve seen progress in Minnesota that lets us know that there’s definitely a sweet kitty under the nervous exterior. With the help of a feline friend, Minnesota has slowly warmed up to getting gentle pets from his favorite staff members and has even enjoyed them so much that he’s let his purr be heard a few times. When he isn’t getting a couple scratches or cozying up in one of his favorite hiding spots, Minnesota also enjoys binging on some good cat TV.

Minnesota needs a patient, dedicated adopter who can help him continue to come out of his shell while understanding that he will need a few weeks to settle in and may always be somewhat shy. Kids can be too rowdy for this guy, so a home with teens and up would be best. Minnesota feels more confident when he’s around other social cats, so he would love a kitty roommate—but our Matchmakers would be happy to speak with interested adopters who are considering Minnesota as their only cat.
