If you’re looking for a fun-loving, happy dog, you’ve come to the right place! Sweet Ontario is one of those pups who’s always looking to have a little fun—sometimes too much! Ontario is still learning to remember his manners when he’s excited and would like an adopter who can help him continue his studies.

Big fan of: People! Nothing makes Ontario happier than being around humans of any variety. Ontario tends to get so wrapped up in the excitement that he can get a little rowdy, but you can bet that his goofy, go-lucky nature puts a smile on the face of everyone he’s around. When he isn’t busy smiling and having a good time, Ontario absolutely loves getting lots of scratches and affection from anyone who is willing. But all of Ontario’s active antics means he needs to get some rest too! Ontario also enjoys curling up for a long, comfy nap.

Working on: Learning to reign in his happiness! The world is an exciting place for Ontario, especially when humans are involved. If Ontario spots a friend—and he even considers strangers to be friends—Ontario gets so excited that he often forgets his manners. This looks like jumping up, mouthing and occasionally mounting. When it comes to other dogs, Ontario mostly does well during playtime but may stare and pull towards them when out for walks. With management and training this could improve in Ontario’s new home, and our Behavior team would be happy to speak with interested adopters about how to help Ontario continue making progress.

Dream home: Ontario needs an adopter who can help him continue working on his impulse control. This includes providing him with a quiet area where he can relax and appropriate outlets for his physical and mental energy.
