Big Dogs Have Even Bigger Hearts
While some people may head to a bar or restaurant to meet their boo this Valentine’s Day, why not try something new? Rescued animals at the ASPCA are looking for love, too!
This year, the ASPCA Adoption Center is celebrating Valentine’s Day by encouraging people in the tri-state area to consider adding a large pup to their lives. Our bigger boys and gals sometimes get overlooked because of misconceptions that surround big dogs. For example, many people believe that larger dogs can’t live comfortable in an apartment.
But a huge benefit of adopting an animal from a shelter is that the staff can help ensure that you are going home with the best match for your family and lifestyle. Whether you live in an apartment, a house with a yard, in a quiet neighborhood or on a busy street, ASPCA Matchmakers can advise on who would best fit your lifestyle.
We’re focusing on larger-than-life pooches to prove that when it comes to adoption, what matters most is the size of your heart. Adoption fees for dogs 40 lb. and up will be waived from Friday, February 14, through Sunday, February 16.
For those not ready to adopt just yet, you can stop by to learn more about fostering large dogs and consider signing up for a foster orientation. You can even help our big pups find their new homes by sharing their profiles on your social media channels with your family and friends. This promotion is “as pup-plies last”, so don’t miss out on finding big love this Valentine’s Day!
Every ASPCA pet is spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. An $8.50 dog license fee still applies. All dog adopters will go home with a free collar, leash, harness and ID tag, and a medical voucher for a local animal hospital. The ASPCA Adoption Center is located at 424 E. 92nd St. (between 1st and York Avenues) in Manhattan, New York City, 10128.
