On the morning of December 1, 2018, a dog was found in a trash chute in an apartment building in the Bronx, New York. The eight-month-old pit bull, now named Buckbeak, was found by the building’s janitor, who then contacted the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

Buckbeak was then brought to the ASPCA Animal Hospital where he continues to receive care. Buckbeak’s case is currently being investigated by the NYPD which is offering a $2,500 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
