ASPCA Services Continue in North Carolina Under New Name: ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance
In 2015, Humane Alliance, the nation’s leading training and education organization focused on high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter services, became a program of the ASPCA. The public services and mentoring programs provided at this facility help pets across Western North Carolina, and make it possible for veterinarians, clinics, shelters and rescue operations to reach millions more at-risk animals across the country.
We are happy to announce that as of today, February 15, 2018, the program’s name will change from Humane Alliance, a Program of the ASPCA® to ASPCA® Spay/Neuter Alliance. We chose our new program name to simultaneously honor ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance’s amazing history and expertise while more fully integrating this program with the broader ASPCA community of programs. We are pleased to recognize our combined strengths through this new program name.
“It’s impossible to overstate the importance of training the next generation of veterinary professionals in spay/neuter, and no one does it better than the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance team,” said Bert Troughton, Senior Vice President, ASPCA Animal Health Services. “ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance has celebrated phenomenal accomplishments since its founding in 1994, and it has been educational and motivational to work side by side with them since 2015. We’re ready to keep scaling solutions for at-risk animals under this new program name.”
Since our two organizations joined forces, the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance team has performed over 64,000 spay/neuter surgeries and trained almost 1,000 senior veterinary students and over 760 veterinarians.
As ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance, the program will continue providing veterinary training and education programs that teach best practices to spay/neuter professionals, including via extensive, informative web content at aspcapro.org. We are excited to move forward as ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance, and continue this critical work for at-risk animals across the nation.
