Rescued Poodles Undergoing Treatment at ASPCA

NEW YORK, October 24, 2008 - Yesterday’s rescue by the ASPCA®) (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) of 33 poodles from a home in Queens has generated a great deal of concern and interest among New Yorkers.

"We're overwhelmed by the amount of support we’ve received since the poodles' arrival," says Gail Buchwald, the ASPCA's Senior Vice President. "Our main priority is the health and safety of the dogs, as they have very special needs, both behaviorally and medically."

The 33 dogs, who range in age from two months to six years, will be gradually made available for adoption throughout the next two weeks, beginning Tuesday, October 28th at 11 AM.

"We hope that those interested in adopting the poodles consider the commitment they will require," said Gail Buchwald, the ASPCA’s Senior Vice President. "They would do best in a quiet home with adults who can give them plenty of time, energy, patience and love."
