Prevent Puppy Mill Cruelty—Join Goldie’s Act Week of Action!
Take me to the daily action list!
In a USDA-licensed dog-breeding facility in Iowa, a young Golden Retriever suffered without fresh food, water or veterinary care. She lived and died in a dirty cage, and she never experienced a safe, loving home. She was even denied a name: the breeder who owned her merely referred to her as Golden Retriever #142. We named her Goldie, and this week is for her.
Goldie’s death could have been prevented, and shockingly, her story is not unique. Dogs continue to live and die in horrific conditions while USDA inspectors turn a blind eye. We must fight for them.
To prevent other dogs from suffering as she did, we are calling on Congress to pass Goldie’s Act (H.R. 6100). This legislation, named in Goldie’s honor, would require the USDA to uphold their duty to enforce the Animal Welfare Act (AWA)—the only federal law that protects animals in licensed breeding facilities.
Join us for our Goldie’s Act Week of Action, April 25-April 29! Make a difference for dogs like Goldie with five easy and exciting activities to urge lawmakers to pass this critical bill.
To show our gratitude for your dedication, advocates who take all five actions to advance Goldie’s Act may be eligible to receive a Goldie's Act bag, while supplies last.
