While I am not in a position to adopt a pet right now, I am becoming a member of the ASPCA in memory of my precious Eden, a Shih Tzu, who passed in January. I miss her terribly. She was 12 years old and became very sick. Eden had excellent care from the doctors at the Veterinary Hospital but it was not to be. Eden will live in my heart forever.

I'm an animal lover, and I have 5 cats all rescues who I found on the streets. I hate animal cruelty—this has to stop, and we need more laws passed to protect animals. Animals are not toys to play with they are living beings that need love, protection and respect. I am proud to be an ASPCA Guardian.

I would like to take the time to thank the wonderful people for the care and compassion for the nation’s fur babies. I am an avid dog lover and it hurts my heart to see a dog abused and mistreated. I make monthly donations to the ASPCA and will continue to do so. I love seeing the success stories. Again, thank you to your wonderful service to protect and help these dogs.

I have always donated in the past because I believe rescuing is a priority. However, I recently lost my little Tia, a Chihuahua/Pug-mix—my BFF. She was a rescue who I loved, and I miss dearly. I am now donating in her name so other animals can benefit. I know she would want me to do this on her behalf. I will start looking for another dog to adopt soon as I know she would want that also. Thank You.

In March 2019, I decided to walk through the Howard County Adoption Center in Maryland. I don't know what prompted me to go, but I found the most adorable Yorkshire Terrier named Grant. I fell in love with the four-month-old and adopted him! I also have a 14-year-old Bichon Frise and they are the best of friends. Grant is thriving! My husband and I love both of our fur babies. Grant was about 10 lb. when I adopted him and he's now over 20 lb. He's healthy, happy and warms my heart every day. Not to mention how intelligent he is and how the world is such a wonder to him. From birds to cars to airplanes above, he is interested in everything! I want to be a guardian of all animals, to help protect and save their lives and that's why I joined the ASPCA as a monthly donor.
