Van Gogh came to us from a “ruff” past, but he is now ready to live the good life with a loving family!

When Van Gogh arrived at the Cruelty Recovery Center, he was completely blind and his eyes caused him pain, requiring a surgery to have them removed. He navigates the world so confidently with his other senses that you’d never know otherwise! In his foster home, he has needed some help going down the stairs, but he can go back up them like a breeze. Most importantly, he easily finds his favorite spot on the couch where he loves to snuggle into the blankets. If you ever can’t find little Van Gogh, that’s probably where he is—under his cozy blanket fort!

Van Gogh is still learning what a normal, loving home life is like, so he’ll need a patient adopter who will help him learn that the noises of the outside world (like cars going by while on walks) are not so scary. He will also need to continue to work on his housetraining. You can also help his transition into your home by ensuring that furniture is not moved around while he’s learning the layout.

Van Gogh is currently in foster with two other small dogs and has done well with them, and has only needed his own space during mealtime. He has met many new people, including kids, and has been pretty relaxed around everyone. He’s a perfect mix of independent pup and snuggle buddy! He is always happy to hang out by himself, but he’ll also snuggle up by you on the couch—which is his favorite place in the world!

Van Gogh hasn’t missed out on anything due to his blindness, because he sees the world and the good in people with his heart! If you would like to meet this special little guy, please fill out his adoption application!
