At 64 pounds of pure love, Black Bear truly lives up to his name — a cuddly, sweet and oh-so-handsome pup who’s ready to steal your heart!

Black Bear is a laidback, social guy who adores people. Whether he’s meeting someone new or spending time with familiar faces, he’s always happy to soak up attention — especially belly rubs! He is not too concerned with toys — he’d much rather be by your side, getting all the love he can. A favorite among our staff and volunteers, this sweet boy is the perfect mix of calm and playful.

When it comes to other dogs, Black Bear is a superstar! He warms up quickly and enjoys fun, rowdy chase games with his canine friends. His adaptable playstyle makes him a great companion for a variety of dogs.

Black Bear came to us from a natural disaster earlier this year and despite a previously healed pelvic injury, he’s thriving! His gait may be a little unique due to past fractures, he’s not in pain and requires no additional treatment — just a loving home where he can enjoy life at his own pace.
