Bolt

Meet Bolt! Bolt is a silly, young hound dog who arrived at the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center from a local shelter where he showed a lot of fear. During his time with us, he has learned that the world is not so scary! Bolt is eager to show off his newfound self-assurance to a patient, loving adopter who will provide positive reinforcement to help him continue to build those skills and blossom into his happiest self!

Big fan of: Walks outside and playtime, of course! Bolt is all about having fun with his favorite toys, whether he’s teaming up with his doggy buddies or playing with his human pals. He would absolutely love to stay active with outdoor adventures like hikes and walks. When he’s not exploring quiet trails, he likes to be in his element — romping around with a dog friend or two and his beloved toys. It’s also important to note that Bolt loves tasty treats! With a few treats in hand, he’ll always have a blast while practicing his obedience skills.

Working on: Building confidence with new people and unfamiliar indoor spaces. Bolt is a sensitive guy who can still be shy when he’s in a new place, but with time and patience, he will begin to feel right at home. When meeting new friends, he is much more comfortable in an outdoor setting, where he can play with his toys and then enjoy a fun walk together. Having a confident, social dog buddy around can also help him feel more at ease and show him the ropes.

Dream home: Bolt’s dream home is one with access to a fenced outdoor area and canine friends to play and share his toys with. Those are very helpful for him as he learns how to navigate his new environment and life as a canine companion. He would love to go for regular walks to burn off some energy, sniffing and exploring his surroundings along the way — he is a hound dog after all! Bolt is seeking an adopter who understands that transitioning into a new home can feel scary at first, and who can give him the patience and positive reinforcement he needs. When he’s given time to adapt, he will quickly grow into a wonderfully affectionate and playful companion!
