The ASPCA’s Right Horse Announces Winners of the 2021 Good People for Good Horses Awards

Eight outstanding members of the equine community have been acknowledged in the third annual Good People for Good Horses Awards

NEW YORK – The ASPCA®’s Right Horse today announced the recipients of the 2021 Good People for Good Horses Awards, which celebrates the strong network of support needed to help each horse find a wonderful home. The third annual Good People for Good Horses Awards recognizes eight hardworking members of the equine community who dedicate their time and talents to helping horses in transition.

“The Good People for Good Horses Awards is a welcome opportunity to acknowledge those working tirelessly to care for at-risk horses and help them find loving homes,” said Dr. Emily Weiss, vice president of ASPCA Equine Welfare. “We thank this year’s winners for their unwavering dedication to horses in transition and the incredible impact they’re making on the success of equine adoption efforts in their communities and across the county.”

The winners are:

  • Community Partner: Patrick King, West Virginia
  • Farrier: Matt Byars, Texas
  • Trainer: Bridget Hollern Heasley, Ohio
  • Veterinary Professional (Western Region): Kimberly Burton, LVT, Nevada
  • Veterinary Professional (Eastern Region): Dr. Frank Nickels, Michigan
  • Veterinary Professional (Central Region): Dr. Susan Heath, Texas
  • Volunteer: Zoe Page, Oklahoma
  • “Wild Card”: Roger Lauze, Massachusetts
