ASPCA Supports Ballot Measure Requiring Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board to Implement Minimum Care Standards

June 1, 2010

NEW YORK—The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced that it is joining the growing list of animal welfare advocates, veterinarians, family farmers and environmental organizations that support a ballot measure requiring the newly created Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board to implement minimum care standards aimed at putting an end to cruel factory farming practices. These standards call for the humane euthanasia of sick and injured animals, a prohibition of cruel confinement practices, and the prevention of sick and injured animals from entering the food supply.
