The ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®), at the request of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and Pulaski County Attorney's Office, is assisting in the removal, transport, sheltering and medical treatment of more than 40 dogs from a large, substandard breeding facility—frequently referred to as a puppy mill—called Dream Catcher Kennels in Nancy, Ky.

The first “ag-gag,” or whistleblower suppression, bill of 2014 has been introduced, and will be heard in the Corrections and Criminal Law committee on Tuesday at the Indiana State House. In 2013, 11 states saw introductions of these bills aimed at covering up animal abuse, unsafe working conditions and environmental violations on industrial factory farms.
