Working Animals | General Considerations
The ASPCA is not opposed to all uses of animals for work. The ASPCA believes that it is possible, for instance, to use a companion animal such as a dog or horse as a working partner, and by virtue of the pleasurable nature of the activity and the time spent together, enhance the human/animal bond. The ASPCA is, however, opposed to any and all practices that cause pain, injury or distress to any animals who are being worked for the benefit of humans.
