ASPCA Mobile Adoption Unit
Are you looking to adopt a new furry companion, but you don’t live near the Adoption Center on the Upper East Side? The state-of-the-art ASPCA Mobile Adoption Unit may be coming to a location near you!
Our Mobile Adoption events give our cats, kittens and occasionally dogs the opportunity to meet potential adopters in their own neighborhood. Likewise, these events seek to reach adopters that may not get the chance to visit us in the Upper East Side. Adopters can meet and spend time with our animals and go home with a new furry friend the very same day!
If you are looking to adopt a cat but are unable to attend our Mobile Adoption events, we are accepting walk-in cat and dog adoptions at the ASPCA Adoption Center, Tuesday through Sunday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Our Mobile Adoption events are subject to change. Please check the calendar below for any last-minute updates before attending an event.
Mobile adoptions are first come, first served. We recommend arriving as early as possible!
You must provide a non-expired government-issued ID with a date of birth (e.g., Driver’s License, State Identification Card, Passport, etc.); in some cases, a separate proof of current address may be required (such as a lease or a telephone, utility or cable bill) and we recommend having this available. You will also be asked to provide the names of each member of your household over the age of 18.
You must be 18 years of age or older to adopt.
Please ensure that pets are permitted by your landlord or building’s policy.
All adopted cats and kittens are required to go home in a secure pet carrier. You may either bring your own carrier with you to the event or one will be provided. We strongly urge all adopters to invest in a secure pet carrier.
Our mobile events focus primarily on cats and kittens. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please check the event calendar for listings that indicate that a dog will be present. You can also visit the adoptable dogs at the Adoption Center in the Upper East Side. You can apply for one directly by visiting their profiles.
The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This allows us to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.
