For the fourth year in a row, the ASPCA was selected as one of five national charities to participate in the Subaru “Share the Love” event and we are thrilled to report that, once again, the ASPCA was the top choice selected by consumers! As a result of this incredible campaign (which ran November 19, 2011-Janary 3, 2012), Subaru of America donated over $1.4 million to the ASPCA! The combined revenue we’ve received from all four years has now reached over $5.6 million. This unprecedented partnership has undoubtedly made a tremendous difference for homeless animals and our life-saving programs.
"Share the Love" Grant Program for Shelters
As part of this year’s promotion, the ASPCA created a “Share the Love” grant program, whereby 62 percent of the total donation was allocated to shelters in all 50 states. Over $884,000 in shelter grants have been awarded to fund Mega Match-a-Thons, vaccination clinics, spay/neuter, vet care and pet food banks. Click here to see a list of grant recipients.
Shelter Incentive Contest
In an effort to encourage greater shelter involvement, the ASPCA also created a shelter incentive contest to match local shelters with Subaru dealers to conduct events that promote pet adoption. Our matchmaking paid off, generating almost 100 local events, finding homes for over 1,000 pets and raising $86,000 for participating shelters. In addition, $35,000 in prize money was awarded to the following shelters that created stellar life-saving partnerships with their local Subaru dealers:
First prize ($20,000 grant from the ASPCA):
Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society (PAWS) - in partnership with Subaru of Wakefield (Wakefield, MA)
2nd Place ($5,000 grant from the ASPCA):

3rd Place (five $2,000 grants from the ASPCA):
