My husband wants to make a cage for my Quaker parrot using milled steel. What types of metal will harm my bird?
Metals containing zinc, cadmium or lead should not be used in the construction of bird cages or other pet habitats, due to the potential risk for poisoning if the metal is chewed onor if lead dust is inhaled in significant quantities.
