Dear Whitney,
We assume that you’re using fescue grass seed, but please let us know if this isn’t the case.
Fescue toxicity is mainly an issue in large animals who routinely graze on hefty amounts of fescue grass. This ingestion can cause a variety of problems, including prolonged gestation, failure to produce milk, death and decomposition of fatty tissue, heat intolerance and sloughingseparating and sheddingof necrotic hoof tissue. There are currently no reports of dogs experiencing fescue toxicity, so your pup’s intermittent nibbling shouldn’t pose a problem.
