Puddle

Puddle of Love

Puddle the DogNew Yorkers Juliette and Stephen shared their story of adopting Puddle:

I wanted to write and say how thankful we are to have found Puddle, and we hope our story encourages someone on the fence about rescuing a dog.

In November 2010, we had lost our dog of 11 years earlier that fall, and it just so happened that I was strolling the ASPCA when Puddle happened to be there. Long story short: Puddle has brought even more warmth, laughter and cuddles into our home.

He has the most remarkable and unique personality. He vocalizes his feelings in a subtle (but clear) way. He is very obedient and follows commands but doesn't spare you a sigh if he's exasperated with having to be good and “stay down.”

His face, eyes and ears are so expressive, and 95% of the time he's smiling at us. He is fully potty trained and loves his crate, and he’s become a wonderful apartment dog.

What we love most about him, aside from his funny personality and soft, fuzzy coat, is that his main goal is to be with us. Close to us. Always ready for a snuggle and a nap, no matter what. As I type, he is curled up between my feet and my husband's feet. That's after two hours of movie watching!

We kept his name Puddle, but added that his full name is Puddleglum, a favorite character from one of our favorite books. He's been a real blessing.
