Reunited, and It Feels So Good

After rescuing hundreds of cats from an overrun Florida sanctuary known as Caboodle Ranch in February, the ASPCA worked tirelessly to nurse the kitties back to health. Six months later, we were able to reunite a few lucky cats with their guardians.
One such reunion occurred when Steve and Linda, an Arizona couple, traveled to Florida in hopes of identifying the cats they had placed in the care of Caboodle Ranch after the cats’ guardian—Linda’s mother—passed away from cancer. The couple thought Caboodle Ranch was a safe place for the cats. They had no idea that the conditions there would be such that the cats would ultimately end up lost, deceased, or very sick.
When Steve and Linda heard the news about the state of things at Caboodle, they traveled to Jacksonville to rescue the cats. Fluffers and Litta Boy, the two feline survivors, now suffer from FIV and FELV, but Steve and Linda are committed to doing whatever it takes to care for them for the rest of their lives.
When they arrived at Steve and Linda’s home in Arizona, Fluffers and Litta Boy immediately knew they were in a safe and familiar place. “One interesting thing that happened, as soon as they came home, both cats walked around smelling everything, as cats do,” the couple reports. “They gravitated towards everything that belonged to Linda’s mother: vintage furniture, books and blankets.”
Since their arrival, Fluffers and Litta Boy have been receiving constant loving care and attention. Steve and Linda say “the cats are doing beautifully, settling in very easily with lots of purring from lots of petting.”
But there are hundreds of Caboodle cats still waiting for forever homes of their own. Steve and Linda add: “We hope the rest of the cats find homes during your upcoming adoption events. They all deserve loving homes.”
