Job Summary:

The TNR Manager acts as an internal hub for TNR information at the ASPCA and provides expertise in the areas of trapping and outreach as it pertains to free-roaming cats. The TNR Manager will provide on-site assessments or assistance as needed. The position is also responsible for organizing meetings with staff involved in the process of TNR and building and facilitating training as-needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and facilitate training sessions or workshops relevant to TNR including written material both to staff and to members of the public
  • Assess field work and outreach as it pertains to TNR and free-roaming cats and provide guidance and training to staff members
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with staff involved with TNR-related projects on issues relevant to TNR
  • Actively participate on-site in collaborative field work with other departments and groups (special projects with Community Outreach, Spay/Neuter Operations, etc.)
  • Training internal teams on TNR outreach and messaging
  • Answering and/or delegating general inquiries from staff or public regarding free-roaming cats/TNR
  • Stay informed regarding local/national feral cat issues and field developments and help maintain data library of issues and programs
  • Special projects relevant to TNR as assigned by supervisor

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree required

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of TNR field experience
  • At least 3 years of TNR outreach and mediation experience

Knowledge Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge and familiarity with ASPCA policy and positions
  • Knowledge of meeting purpose and needs within Community Outreach

Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizations skills
  • Strong ability to maximize cost efficiencies
  • Superior oral and written skills
  • Experience with contracts
  • Ability to self-motivate

Training Requirements:

  • TNR Certified by Neighborhood Cats workshop
  • Meeting facilitation training
  • Public speaking, as needed

Additional Information:

  • Travel required
  • Must occasionally lift and move up to 35 pounds
  • Must be self-guided individual, requiring minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a remote office
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Bi-lingual a plus
